Welcome to U3A Geelong!

U3A stands for University of the Third Age,  ‘a community where those eager to learn meet those eager to teach’.

U3A Geelong provides retired and semi-retired people with life enhancing educational, creative and leisure activities. At U3A we feel we are a part of a university in the original sense of the word: "A Community of people with a love of learning for its own sake whose members are all ages but generally in the Third Age of Active Retirement"

We endeavour to provide learning experiences which meets the needs of its members by conducting courses which are stimulating and relevant, encouraging participants to extend their knowledge, skills and social contacts in a friendly and supportive environment.

There are no qualifications needed to join our classes; we don’t conduct exams or issue degrees, just provide learning for its own sake, and or the enjoyment and benefit of all.

If you are retired or no longer working full time we offer you the chance to improve your knowledge and skills in a friendly social environment. For an annual membership fee of $60 you can enroll in as many courses as you like (some may have a waiting list).

U3A Geelong runs over 85 courses in a wide range of subjects and activities, from Arts & Crafts and Lifestyle activities to History, Humanities and Languages. Our tutors are all dedicated volunteers keen to help you focus on those interests you have long wanted to enhance.

So go into our Courses page and take a look at what we have to offer by way of artistic, educational and social experiences. Or check out our Newsletters and read what we’ve been up to lately, and in the recent past. And note our Upcoming Events to get an idea of the sorts of social activity we enjoy amongst ourselves. And if you are impressed by what you see, and think you’d like to join us in all or any of these activities, go into the Join Us page and follow the steps. Come on board !
