Constitution and Policies

The following policies set down the guidelines by which U3A Geelong Inc. operates on
behalf of its members for the purposes of providing learning and social activities under the
terms of its Constitution. This document should be read in conjunction with the Constitution
(2013 edition), and the Tutors’ Manual (2017 update), as setting down all principles and
procedures by which U3A Geelong Inc. runs its course programs, administrative meetings
and social activities.
It is to be hoped that all members of U3A Geelong will benefit from the clarification and
support that these policies offer in establishing best practice across all the organisation’s
activities, especially in respect to matters of trust, inclusiveness, equal opportunity and
ethics in operating a not-for-profit organisation. Further, it is to be hoped that having such
clarity and support will enhance the enjoyment and satisfaction that members receive from
participating in U3A Geelong’s courses and social life.
